One of the many natural peculiarities of Brazil is the confluence of the Solimões River and the Negro River, a meeting of waters after which the Amazon river is called by its own name until it reaches its mouth. And it is precisely there at that crossroads, in the city of Manaus (Amazonas State), that Iberostar has placed one of the crown jewels of its Grand Collection group: the Grand Hotel-Ship Amazon, an entirely ‘all inclusive’ Super Luxury floating hotel only for persons over 8 years of age. You can travel across Amazon River by a luxury cruise and enjoy your holidays in the Amazon River with all kinds of activities. Journey deep into nature’s remotest places to experience a totally different kind of adventure. With all the comfort and elegance offered by the best 5 star hotels, the Grand Hotel-Ship Amazon offers 73 cabins, each with private balcony and views out onto the river or out on the tropical rainforest, plus two ample ‘royal suites’ located on the prow. Day 1 Manaus Check-in at the Port of Manaus. Departure: Sailing down Rio Negro. Sunset on the top deck with classical music. Welcome cocktail offered by the Captain with presentation of equipment on board and safety procedures in Salão Lua. Welcome dinner in the Kuarup restaurant. Day 2 Jaraqui Hiking on trails in the region of Igarapés (narrow water courses) of Jaraqui with palm trees and tall trees that are very important to local villages; some of them are used in the manufacture of houses and their trunks and leaves have great medicinal value; we can observe flowers and fruits depending on the season. Day 3 Igarapé Trench / Novo Airão Hiking trails in the region of Igarapé Trench and visit to Pink Dolphins in Novo Airão. Trails in vines, palm trees and large trees very important to the way of life of the local people; some of them are used to build their homes, the hulls and leaves used in medicinal purpose; we can see flowers and fruits depending on the season. Boat tours through the Igarapés Trench region. At the margin of the river, one can see a beautiful, high canopy; it is a very quiet and pleasant place to take landscape photos. Visit to Pink Dolphins in Novo Airão. Day 4 Rio Ariaú Amazon Awakening. Morning boat ride in the region of Rio Ariaú, where birds can be seen as well as a beautiful landscape lit by sunrise. Awakening in the Amazon. Boat rides through the Igarapés and lakes of the Rio Ariaú region. The waters in this region are clear and the fauna is rich; we can see monkeys, sloths and birds (like collared hawk and kingfisher). Day 5 Manaus Arrival at the Port of Manaus.
